90% Solar Eclipse
12 August @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
The Moon and Sun line up for the best solar eclipse the UK has seen in almost thirty years. It’s the closest the UK has come to totality since 1999, and we won’t see another eclipse this good until 2081. Around 90% of the Sun will be covered.
It startsĀ 6:17 PM, peaks at 7:13 PM and finishes around 8pm when the evening light will be back to normal. View via a homemade pinhole projector or a kitchen colander, to safely project the shadow of the eclipse onto the ground or a wall.
